Biruni University Faculty of Health Sciences students, who took their first steps towards becoming healthcare professionals by wearing “White Coat”, came together at the ceremony in Reyhan Conference Hall.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Nezihe Kızılkaya Beji reminded the students of Hippocrates’ saying “first do no harm” and gave messages to the students that they do not have the chance to make mistakes while practicing their profession, to always remain honest throughout their lives, to touch and conquer the hearts of people.
Beji said, “Of course these aprons can get dirty after they are worn, let them get dirty. As long as your conscientious, moral and human values represented by the aprons do not get dirty.”
Rector Prof. Dr. Adnan Yüksel said: “I can give the following valuable promise to the families who attended this meaningful ceremony of our students and to the families who could not attend, that we will deliver you, our esteemed students, whom they have raised and entrusted to us, in the best way, in the Biruni University family. You are here to receive the best education for your professional development as well as your personal development, you are in the right place, you are in good hands. In this direction, in line with the meaning of this white coat, which you will carry forward on this beautiful day, we now impose some responsibilities on you. This white coat is a symbol for you, but it is a presentation of purity, cleanliness, honesty, ethical principles and moral values.
After the speeches, the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences were given their white coats by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Nezihe Kızılkaya Beji and academic staff.
